about

About The Phlod-Nar's 'nadie se conoce':
A track consisting solely of a piano recording, which has been reconfigured, remixed, and overlaid with incidental bleeps and erroneous sounds from the mixing process. Eventually it turned into an unsettling composition progressing like a muddy landscape.

The title 'nadie se conoce' comes from a print from the book Los Caprichos by Francisco Goya, meaning nobody knows oneself.
Nadie se conoce is one of the eighty prints in Goya’s 1799 ‘Los Caprichos’ series of aquatint etchings which aimed to condemn the society in which he lived. Goya portrays an older woman confronting a younger woman in mask. They are in a crowd of masquerade, with many distorted figures behind them.
